Was sad to read about the death of the record breaking mountaineer Nirmal “Nims” Purja and five others in his team.

Find it fascinating and inspiring to follow climbers, ever since seeing Alison Hargreaves on TV many years ago, who achieved a lot and died on K2. But fearful of their deaths.

It’s obviously just an opinion but I don’t really find it inspiring.

If I think what inspires me it wouldn’t be someone scaling a mountain which potentially takes their life and those of the many local people who carry their equipment etc.

I feel sorry for their families left behind. It’s always sad when someone needlessly dies.
