What would you rate these pictures from 0-10? Any advice?

Rate in what sense? I only see a photo of a dog?

Have you posted about photography skills before (landscapes and a shed in b&w I think?)

LaBelleSauvage123 · 09/08/2026 13:00

Gosh she is the spitting image of our Lab! Sorry, I know its not what you asked.
I think you could do with editing the settings a bit. Its a bit dark.

squirrelchops2 · 09/08/2026 13:01

About a 2 or 3.

Background is too dark, crop out the car and centre the dog.

BranClaps · 09/08/2026 13:01

In what context?

It looks like a picture of a dog on a driveway taken with an iPhone. Is the dog lovely? Yes. Is it a frame and put in the wall picture? No.

BinNightTonight · 09/08/2026 13:01

It's a nice photo, nothing terrible about it, nothing special about it. Your dog is lovely 😍

BillieWiper · 09/08/2026 13:01

I only see one pic. I think the car and house in the background distracts it. It would be better if it was the dog against just the green shrubbery stuff on the left?

Victorius19 · 09/08/2026 13:02

The lighting is all wrong, you need to go for a higher ISO to brighten the image when you're shooting in poor light. The composition isn't that great either because of the car/house behind which is distracting.

But the dog is gorgeous.

Pleasedontdoitagain · 09/08/2026 13:02

What a lovely dog. Looks very intelligent and thoughtful.
Sorry but as for rating the photo I'm not really qualified to comment.

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/08/2026 13:05

Needs editing - it's too dark and the background needs changing. It's a lovely photo of a beautiful dog - is someone selling it or are you?
I would say 5/10

Tuxmittens · 09/08/2026 13:06

Sorry, these are the others

It's a cute snap of a lovely dog. I'd have wanted to get rid of the car and garage in the background. 5/10 (edited to give rating, as requested)

Viviennemary · 09/08/2026 13:08

First one not very good. Sunnier ones a lot better.

ShanghaiDiva · 09/08/2026 13:09

Next three:
first one background is distracting
second one something no quite right with the light/too much light
third one. - too much grey background

Fast800goingforit · 09/08/2026 13:16

The next three: first one is best, second one has the dog backlit, which doesn't work and the third needs cropping to the dog, but the resolution doesn't look great so you'll lose definition doing that. You can do short courses on mobile phone photography which you might find helpful. The quality of phone cameras and editing features is improving all the time.

Tuxmittens · 09/08/2026 13:33

Unfortunately the quality has majorly been destroyed by posting here!

Why are you asking? Advice on what? At least provide some context.

Myoldbear · 09/08/2026 13:42

I like the dog with the stick.
The dog is central and the horizontal stick contrasts well with the vertical legs.
I find that quite satisfying!

AutisticMumOf2 · 09/08/2026 14:06

Lighting is wrong, one out of focus too much. The one with the stick good but the paws are out of focus again.

ComtesseDeSpair · 09/08/2026 14:12

What would you like advice on? Are you wanting to enter them into an amateur photography competition? Asking if they’re good enough to sell to somebody? Did you commission them from another photographer and aren’t happy with the quality? The two sunny ones are decently nice family pet photos, the other two are a bit meh due to grey and background.

Bunnyofhope · 09/08/2026 14:15

I think the stick one is great and something not everyone could achieve. Someone who loved the dog might buy it if the resolution is good. I don't really think the others are up to the same standard.

SaffronsMadAboutMe · 09/08/2026 14:17

They're just average snaps of a handsome dog.

Although I feel sorry for it in the first snap, being made to sit in a puddle.

shockthemonkey · 09/08/2026 14:21

Dog=10/10
As for the photos themselves, garage photo 1/10, stick photo 8/10, slope photo 6/10 and daffodils photo 7/10

But as I say, your dog is precious

WallaceinAnderland · 09/08/2026 14:21

Did you pay someone to take the pictures? Not happy with the result? Need a bit more info if you want ratings.

Favouritefruits · 09/08/2026 14:22

I like pictures of dogs so they are ok I guess???
