Help me understand the Beckham tribe

Firstly I am not knocking them as I do like them.
I don’t understand how Cruz and Romeo and their girlfriends have all this free time to holiday and attend events. Do none of them have jobs? Or is their job to be brand Beckham, even the girlfriends?
And does Harper not attend school?
Looks like a wonderful life to me.

Romeo is a model and Cruz is a singer. I guess they can do both of those things in and around their holidays and events. Harper goes to a private school, which probably has different holidays and different rules about taking time away from lessons.

No, they don't have jobs. Their parents are rich and they don't need to earn a living.

I don't think that's healthy, but that's their world.

They groom and monetize their children. It's far from a wonderful life.

This. The Beckham brand will keep all of them comfortable for their lives and poss their grandchildren if the money is managed right. What's to understand? They exist in celebrity/money world. Might as well live on another planet. Best not to give them the oxygen of publicity

The children are hardly going to get a job in Tesco! They do work as a model, singer and Harper is bringing out a make up brand. It’s just the same as many other influencers, the job industry has changed so much in the last couple of decades, so it’s different jobs now.

They are all part of brand Beckham so PR is their job.

They don’t need jobs because they have lots of money however I don’t understand the loss of privacy. Although look how rich that has made them.

I find that it is best to ignore the entire family...

Their constant need for more drama, publicity and money is really off putting and has become rather boring.

Why do you feel the need to understand them?

Personally I wouldn’t waste a second of headspace on them.

Equally, the girlfriends aren't likely to be working in a pedestrian job....if they were they wouldn't have met, would they?

It's more informal, along the lines of their parents pay for everything (e.g. bought them a house and car), and holidays, so they don't have the same day-to-day expenditure your average 20 something has. Wouldn't be surprised if they also still get some sort of allowance. Then they will make enough money themselves (even if they aren't particularly good models etc. they also maximise publicity e.g. can probably charge several grand just for posting one ad on their insta advert) to spend on normal day to day crap.

Of course the understanding is that to keep getting that funding they have to follow the party line, show up to events etc. But I highly doubt they have a full on signed contract or anything!

This. They likely mix in the same circles, which involves all the players having money, coming from money, etc. I doubt that the girlfriends worked in the caff, down the lane🙄.

One of the sons is married to a rich woman. I presume models/influencers will be the usual ones

Model??! What does he model? None of them are remotely handsome enough to be models, despite their parents’ fame and fortune helping them get a foot in the door.

they’re a strange bunch. I feel very sorry for the children growing up with such narcissistic parents who think it’s ok to pimp their kids out from literally the day they were conceived. Team Brooklyn all the way!

As parents I've always thought them very lacking. Those kids could have had the best educations that money could buy, instead they're dragged from holiday to fashion show to football match, and repeat. It would appear they've given up even pretending that Harper goes to school.

From hearing snippets from other people from rich though non-celebrity families, I would expect that they have trust funds managed by paid fund managers. It is hard as a wage slave to imagine an entire life where the money just appears in their accounts whatever they do, but there are quite a few people in that position.

To be fair to them as a family there is zero sign that any of them has an addiction or is doing anything outside the law. That’s not a given.

I thought they’d have these type of jobs, not a 9-5 with limited holidays off etc, working in a freelance capacity as and when they want to.

I don’t mind them, except that that young girl is out of school waaaay too much and is constantly being paraded around in those dresses that look like nighties. She’s got years and years in which to do that - I do think she should have been packed off to school until she finishes her GCSEs, if only so she can slop around in terrible clothes like all the other teenagers I know, being ‘normal’, instead of being constantly presented to the world as a polished article with her own ‘brand’. She’s a kid! I know Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Tilly was in the public eye from an early age, but her cooking seemed to be something she was genuinely excited about, plus there was the parental expectation she would finish school, go to university etc. Parental expectations of Harper seem to consist of wanting her to look ‘fabulous’ and maintain the ability to fit into tiny frocks. Buy the kid some leggings, hoodies and a bag of doughnuts and let her sit in her bedroom with the curtains shut!

They don't need to work their parents have not instilled any work ethic into them despite DB pretending that they had "Saturday " jobs their job is to leech off their parents money and grifting freebies and saying they are models and musicians.

Yes @PigglyWigglyOhYeah, I feel like the expectations for Harper are rather limited and sexist. Depressing to hear that she’s apparently ‘bringing out’ (aka having her name and image attached to) a make-up brand before she’s even reached adulthood.

I wonder what would have happened if she’d shown a real flair for physics and maths and wanted to get PHDs etc. Hopefully they’d have supported her in that but it’s hard to imagine. But then it’s hard to imagine any child of the Beckhams being particularly academically gifted 😬

Obviously they don’t have jobs 🤣 what did you think before you noticed the holidays, that they were logging onto teams for the 9am stand up every day?!
