What shoes and backpack do Year 7 girls usually wear?

My oldest is just going into Y7 at a girls grammar school. Her primary had an "active uniform" so shes been in black trainers for years at school, and Clarks Mary Jane's before that. What sort of shoes do girls this age wear?!

I'm hearing that a plain black backpack is the way to go, is that right?

Full disclosure, I was bullied horribly at secondary school, my uniform was too big, my shoes were wrong etc. I dont want dd to stick out for the wrong reasons as she starts her new school.

DD wore Clarks sturdy lace ups and a plain backpack for first few years (followed by Converse and Nike backpacks I think, but still plain colours) Others had similar but absolutely no-one cared or really noticed about what sort of shoes/ coat/ bag you had. This was at a co-ed grammar school.
However I've seen posts on here before saying Clarks are childish and are likely to lead to bullying. So I think it may depend on area and school.

Most girls at my daughters secondary have a black backpack - usually nike or adidas or a big handbag type bag.

Shoe wise it's either the slip on type black shoes or black brogues.

Most of the girls have brogues
(Less important than the bag is the pencil case with a variety of adorable pens, highlighters and tiny scissors)

My daughter started with her y6 Mary janes (quite plain clarks ones) and switched to lace ups at half term as she outgrew them.

Her backpack is plain dark grey and she hung a fancy keyring on it so she could recognise it among the mound of backpacks left at assemblies etc. Make sure there is a good inside pocket for sanitary supplies.

Plain black sporty backpacks
Plain black trainers (luckily allowed in DDs school)
Older DD has black DMs too and has asked for DM Mary Jane’s for this year.
