Places to donate gifts in memory of a baby I miscarried

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I’m pregnant with my third and final child. It’s my third boy and I miscarried a girl earlier this year. Whilst I’m super pleased my baby seems to be healthy and I’m able to be pregnant again I am grieving that I’ll never have a living daughter. I’ve had the idea that I’d like to buy a present every year on what would have been her due date and for Christmas and donate it somewhere. Something age appropriate for how old she would have been, maybe clothes or toys. Nothing big. But I don’t know if there is anywhere that would accept such a donation? Does anyone have any recommendations of places that would accept such a thing? Is this a silly idea?

We have local charities which collect for families in need. Google baby bank and it might come up near you x

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's a lovely idea. We donate every birthday and Christmas in memory of our stillborn niece and will do the same now that we have sadly miscarried as well. We tend to donate to SANDS or Tommy's but have also done charities that support children in need. There will be places that accept toys as well and I love the idea of choosing something for each year. There's also this https://www.tommys.org/baby-loss-support/memory-sky.
Wishing you and your family all the best!

I’m so sorry for your loss @SP2024 ❤️ It’s not a silly idea at all. Various members of our family donate at birthday and Christmas in memory of my sibling who was stillborn.

I can’t be any help with charities - my sibling was lost due to a certain condition so we usually just do money donations to the research charity for it.

What about a local children’s hospital? I wonder if they’d be able to pass on a gift to a patient in memory of your daughter?

I'm very sorry for your loss OP, and I admire your beautiful and generous spirit, wanting to gift another child at the age your daughter would have been. What a lovely memorial to your daughter and It's certainly not a silly idea, it's a beautiful idea, you have very kind ♥️

You can always donate a bear/bears on achingarms, you could also apply for a bear too and then you’ve one dedicated from someone else’s baby.

That’s such a lovely way to honour your baby. If you don’t have any luck with baby banks try talking to the Health Visitor at your GP surgery. They will be able to make some suggestions of charities or social workers that have children in need of certain items.

Bless you x

A lovely idea and a beautiful way to remember your daughter.

women’s aid or your local children’s hospice would be glad recipients I’m sure.

congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope it’s very smooth for you.

What a lovely idea.

It's a beautiful idea.

I would probably look for a present bank for Xmas and donate something as yo u said age appropriate, and then maybe a small cash donation to a relevant charity or the hospital if they were particularly supportive? Your baby deserves to be remembered x

I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers
I've lost 3 and have no living children. Some shops such as dunelm have a Christmas tree with donation cards hanging from it. I pick 3 up each year. They generally have 'boy, aged 3' etc on the card and you donate something suitable.

I also donated my wedding dress and it got made into baby clothes for still births.

I’ve made donations to Book Trust in similar circumstances.

It’s a lovely idea

In similar circumstances, I made a donation to a charity that trains midwives in Africa.
