There’s a celeb on the hen do…

You’re on your work friend’s hen. Turns out her cousin/auntie/pal from uni is a celeb you’ve always liked and thought would be good value on a night out. Who is it?

I’m going with Sharon Horgan. Partly influenced by her characters, admittedly, but she’d hopefully also lend me something cracking to wear.

Rosie Ramsey. I think she'd be great fun and a good partner for karaoke!

AliceDownTheRabbitHole · 06/08/2026 19:02

Katherine Ryan

I’d leave instantly. Had the misfortune to meet her on a flight to Dublin once. (Didn’t know who she was as she was small fry back then) She was absolutely vile.

I’d like Grace Dent to have chosen the restaurant and Helen from Saturday kitchen to give us the wine (bubbles) recommendations. I reckon they’ll have good chat too

I work with celebs and have met pretty much every person named here (haven't RTFT admittedly)

Of the names I've seen mentioned I'd go with Mel Giedroyc and Joan Rivers (RIP). I definitely wouldn't go with Hannah Waddingham, Alison Steadman and Dame Judi, none is horrible but not good hen weekend material. Not sure if anyone's mentioned her but the best would be Joanna Page, Stacey from Gavin and Stacey. But it's worth remembering most celebs are a bit nervous around "civilians" because any bad behaviour will end up on threads like these, so you won't see them at their lairy best.

Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon. Love them both.

I have it on good authority that Reese knows how to have a good time when the paps aren't around.

Some mentions here never went to uni so unlikely

You do realise that when the OP said cousin/auntie/friend from uni she didn't expect the suggested celeb to be all three!

Debbie Harry or perhaps Joan Collins!

Debbie Harry is a genuinely unpleasant person.

Gutted. Hypothetical is pretty much a reverse. Just a game, not an interesting question.

Sorry to have angered and/or upset you. Nearly 300 other posters have found it an interesting enough question to offer their (hypothetical) answer.

Susan Calman, I’ve always thought I’d genuinely get along great with her. Not a trace of obnoxious celebrity but very smart and witty.
