You’re on your work friend’s hen. Turns out her cousin/auntie/pal from uni is a celeb you’ve always liked and thought would be good value on a night out. Who is it?

I’m going with Sharon Horgan. Partly influenced by her characters, admittedly, but she’d hopefully also lend me something cracking to wear.

That would make me leave instantly as I cannot abide her!

No need to worry - just roll a bandwagon by her. She'll wont be able to resist jumping on it and will safely trundle off. I always keep an emergency one handy for situations like this.

Can I add Dame Judy Dench.

Joanna Scanlon - she's brill and always seems cheerful. If I am allowed two then def Julia Roberts. Her smile lights up her face and always makes me feel happy !

Ha ha, I have a loose connection with her (won’t say how as it would be outing)

WhatNextImScared · 06/08/2026 17:05

Would be happy with a lot of these, but I’m going for Marina Hyde

WhatNextImScared · 06/08/2026 17:05

Or Zoe Ball

Widoeeyes · 06/08/2026 17:16

Absolutely Sarah Millican. She seems like great fun.

Sophie Ellis Bexter too

JuniperKeats · 06/08/2026 17:54

Some mentions here never went to uni so unlikely

applecharlotte · 06/08/2026 17:56

This actually happened to me. Probably not someone I've really really liked (she was pleasant enough!) - Denise Van Outen.

WhitePudding · 06/08/2026 18:02

Sara Davies - always handy to know someone good with a glue gun in your wedding era.

RatherBeMutton · 06/08/2026 18:03

Caitlin Moran please.
And Marina Hyde.
