Looking for inexpensive gift ideas for dh 50th. He’s very outdoors, super fit, runs, cycles, gyms type of person

im trying to get him 50 gifts for his 50th - maybe I’m just mad 😂

I’ve got him bits & pieces eg complete set of Game of Thrones books, GOT monopoly, some other fun games (we play a lot of games!)

Ill get him his favourite deodorant as that’s about £12 a can so its only bought as a gift! Plus expensive bubble bath/shower gel he likes

hes got two expensive watches

im getting him a bottle of his favourite whiskey & a bottle of his favourite wine

im getting him as his main gift a city break to Lisbon as i know he really wants to go there

so looking for ideas around £10 - £20 sort of price

If you like games, how about an automatic dice popper? It’s great for travel or if you’re playing on a small table, you can put your own dice in it, so works for things like Grabalo.

How about some items to represent some decades or key moments in his life/ your time together. Any favourite childhood hobbies or TV programmes you know of?
A photo book would be good.

A few websites to browse for gifts, novelty items retro things and band tees etc

Temptation Gifts, TruffleShuffle, Grindstore, Rex London

A multi aperture photo frame with a photo for each decade plus maybe your wedding photo?

Guidebook for Lisbon

One of those travel backpacks that folds down into a tiny pouch

Case for carrying phone chargers etc when you travel

Fancy food items - our DD often gets DH things like pickles, jams and mustards from Fortnum and Mason for Father’s Day. They’re different enough to be a bit special.

Golf ball or gold ball soaps, boxers, a pen, a comb, bath salts, can of craft beer, coffee pods, a baseball cap, keyring, framed photo, personalised phone case, socks, lip balm or face cream for men, new tooth brush, swimming trunks.

ManManManManMan · 06/08/2026 00:30

Terrible idea. It’s my 50th today and I’d be fuming to get 50 presents I didn’t ask for, inevitably most of them would be useless and I would not want them.

Ask him what he wants and get him exactly that.

Thank you, some great ideas xx

Scatch card in a little tin
bbq accessories if he likes cooking
nice socks/boxers
personalised keyring
book he might like
travel journal for Lisbon/ other adventures
one of those world map pinboards for travel
nice thermos beaker
music eg a cd or vinyl
travel clock
nice pen
iPad case with keyboard
digital photo frame
adult Lego
a game he liked when he was younger
fancy teabags/ coffee
nice chocolates

are you doing this like 1 present a day up to his 50th birthday? If so maybe have some sort of nice foody gift delivered one day - if some of the other ideas are cheaper maybe splurge on a couple of fancy ideas?

men are so hard to buy for aren’t they? Women sooo much easier

Justonegirl · 06/08/2026 00:39

Oh god no! Is the poor man going to have to open 50 gifts and feign delight at each one?

cityliving99 · 06/08/2026 05:50

I did a 50th parcel for my husband, with 50 layers. But the layers were things like small handwritten cards from our children, photos, chocs, etc.
in the middle was a special gift.
He opened it up during the day…

I wondered about this too.

DH hates "stocking filler" gifts and would rather get one more expensive gift he really enjoys than lots of little knick knacks.

Gateappreciation · 06/08/2026 06:05

Some sports people are doing theatre tours - tickets for these

Sports biography

Decent sports socks - always more expensive then you think.

CypressMoon · 06/08/2026 06:08

In what ways is he sporty? For £10-20 you could get good wicking running vests and tees from somewhere like Decathlon, cycling gloves, sports socks, runner's phone armband, sports towels, a head torch for running at night, a new water bottle, some ayurvedic muscle rub, herbal bath salts for after a long run or hike etc.

Wishimaywishimight · 06/08/2026 07:08

I would absolutely hate this - a load of 'bits' to be tidied up/put somewhere afterwards, probably many will end up in the bin after a few days/weeks. Presumably you know he will enjoy this but my heart would sink at the sight of 50 presents 🫣

Rocknrollstar · 06/08/2026 07:12

Cycling accessories always go down well with DS

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 06/08/2026 07:18

If you do go ahead with this please make sure that the inexpensive gifts you choose aren’t just destined for landfill or from Temu/Amazon Haul.

ifonly4 · 06/08/2026 07:51

Not in the price range you'd asked, but one or more protein bars. DH is active and likes to make sure he gets enough protein, so has these as a healthier treat.

YouSawBrigadoon · 06/08/2026 07:58

Cycling buffs?

I’m a minimalist and I’d be freaking out at the volume of ‘stuff’, so would make many of the gifts vouchers - restaurant, massage, garden centre, experiences…

itsgettingweird · 06/08/2026 08:01

My dad and brother cycle and there’s lots of gift ideas around that

multi tool
puncture repair kit
under seat saddle bag
water bottle and attachment
WD40!

for an outdoorsy person

thermos flask
baseball cap
walking socks
mini first aid kit
compass
waterproof phone holder

Not the most exciting presents but all useful and when teamed with everything g else including a holiday will help get up to 50!

theleafandnotthetree · 06/08/2026 08:08

I find this kind of performative bollocks cringe and in the context of the climate crisis and the state of the world, appallingly wasteful and excessive. This is the equivelent of the present 'hauls' for children at Christmas and the OP and her husband don't even have the excuse of being children.

Omg some of those are brilliant! Especially the donations - can’t believe I didn’t think of those, that’s such a good idea, he’ll love that, thank you xx
