Anyone know Birmingham city centre? Suggestions needed please

I am planning to meet a friend for a weekend in Birmingham. I am travelling from the north, she is travelling from the south so it's equidistant for us.
She will be travelling by train, me by car.
I will be leaving my car with a friend on the outskirts of Birmingham and getting a cab in and out to meet my friend, for lunch and afternoon into early evening, then we will be parting ways.
So I am looking for suggestions of chilled places where we can meet, relax, eat and talk for as long as we like. We do not want to be walking around or exploring at all as my friend has mobility problems.
Venues need to be close to the train station or max five or ten minute walk away, that offer food and a quiet environment and where we are not going to be rushed from our table or seats. Not fussy about type of food but preferably not chain restaurants.
It will be a Friday afternoon in the autumn.

Yeah, but Dishoom is like eating in a nightclub so the last place to go for a chat, especially if you have to queue up for a table too.

The massive library closed to New Street Station.

If you're at the train station, I'd go Mowgli and ask for table near the back.

I like Albert’s Schloss - German style beer hall, also big croissants and coffee etc.

I find Dasmascena cramped, and Dishoom is always so loud!

Worth looking at Mailbox, it's near station, has lifts and escalators. The medicine bakery in mailbox is more accessible than the one on New St.

Would a board game cafe work? You normally pay a cost per hour and can book as long as you like, the drinks and food are extra. I think there are a few around the city centre

I think the tea room at the museum is the best suggestion so far. Ticks all your boxes and you won't have the after work crowd or the early doors night outers to contend with in there.
