Has this heatwave caused cracks in my plaster?

we live in an victorian house, we did a refurb in 2013 and haven’t decorated since then but have found a couple of big new cracks in the wall, would it be the weather? How much do we need to worry about it?
live herts so now particularly clay soil I don’t think

Probably. It really is ridiculously dry so there could have been ground movement and shrinkage. Are there any large trees within about 50 metres of the property?

How big are the cracks?

50 metres? Yes.

visible but not horrifying

Quite possibly. More likely to be plaster shrinkage than house movement though. Even if movement, it’s likely to be slight.

Are any of the cracks wider than a pound coin? That’s a good “should I worry” test.
