I think it's tge lack of originality that bugs me

A cheeky anything ...

CoffeeMumForever · 06/08/2026 23:40

Captioning every clearly showing off ohoto
of themselves and family with self deprecating comments like ‘this photo doesn’t do justice to the copious amounts of ice cream we have been eating’ just own the fact you are posting photos to show off!!!!!!!

ImogenBrocklehurst · 07/08/2026 00:58

Fresh from Threads: I think they were aiming for “I don’t care”. My eyes 🤦‍♀️

"Fit check" (yeah, it means outFIT, not how the outfit ... well, fits)
"Obsessed with ..." (unless you actually are)
"It's giving ..."
"For all my ___ girlies"
"Let's get into it!" (Five minutes into a video - babe, we ARE in!)

"it's giving" is so annoying

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/08/2026 01:10

Off of. As in 'I got off of the bus'
also hubster/hubs/bubs/

igelkott2026 · 07/08/2026 17:17

Not so much captions but social media advertising.

One is saying "we're sorry (but we're/our product is so wonderful)". it was mildly amusing the first time someone used it but why would everyone copy? Once it's been done it's been done.

And the other one is saying you are quitting the UK market when you very clearly aren't because you've been saying it on your feed for the last six months and are still accepting orders (that is misleading advertising in my book too).

igelkott2026 · 07/08/2026 17:23

I thought of another general one -"Thank you" to a place. So for example "Thank you Cyprus for a wonderful week's holiday"

Instead of "had such a lovely time in Cyprus".

igelkott2026 · 07/08/2026 17:25

Agree about the obsessed.

And a new one that is being used for every article:

I am a travel expert, here are my tips on how to avoid EES chaos.

I am a beauty editor, here are my favourite mascaras.

I'm a doctor, here are the things I wish people wouldn't do on holiday.

Etc etc. Why is there no originality? Is everyone obsessed (sorry!) with AI?

Dumbledore167 · 07/08/2026 17:27

“Love my little family 🥰” 🤮

FUCK OFF

IT WOULD BE MORE REMARKABLE/NOTEWORTHY IF YOU DIDN’T

wishingitwasfriday · 07/08/2026 17:30

The new “kinda cute……” shite that’s going round Instagram. Scroll straight past when I see it and has led me to unfollow a few accounts

Abouteffingtime · 07/08/2026 17:31

Needs.

As in, needs gone/needs done/needs fixed.

BiscuitsCheeseBiscuits · 07/08/2026 18:15

IYKYK - well obvs I don't, but good for you to know something

Also not a caption, but when people ask questions eg what time does Co-Op shut?

inthewoodss · 07/08/2026 19:18

"Out of office on"

zigazigahhhh · 07/08/2026 19:25

“I did a thing”

BrickProblems · 07/08/2026 19:32

“Went to the zoo with my littles.”

They are your fucking CHILDREN, your offspring, your kids, do not give me another word that makes no grammatical sense you sick bastard.

Nousernameideaaga · 07/08/2026 19:33

“This is your sign to ….”

then something really fucking stupid like “paint your washing machine pink”

imnottoofussed · 07/08/2026 19:36

Making memories - no you’re just showing every single thing you do on a daily basis to everyone else, who doesn’t give a shit, and happily goes about doing all those things too just without telling everybody else about it.

Shes this or she’s that when talking about themselves - basically talking in the third person. This is only the one social media person so may just be me that’s annoyed about her doing that.

TigerRag · 07/08/2026 19:40

"delete if not allowed"...in a group where all posts are checked by admin before they can be posted

"F / following"

CarrieMoonbeams · 07/08/2026 19:51

"They lit up every room (when someone has passed - surely not everyone lights up every room and some people do not.
When I die I want an honest portrayal."

My uncle had insisted that "he lit up every room" was said as part of the eulogy at his funeral. He was an electrician 😁

My normally sensible friend often posts photos of her dinner - especially if it's one of those horrible 'munchy box' things from the chippy - with the caption "Nom nom 😋"

MrsMe1978 · 07/08/2026 22:00

Probably/might delete later

Blessed is particularly annoying.

I can see why a lot of people find 'blessed' annoying but I tend to use it in a Christian context, not realising that others overuse it. I loathe.......babe, are you alright hon?, I was today years old, my babies when talking about older kids.

Yes! And in a similar vein… ‘Berlin, you were magical…’ Are you addressing the place itself with this social media post?!

Lolabear38 · 07/08/2026 23:25

‘This is your reminder that it’s ok to wear…..’

Thanks, I didn’t need to be reminded though.

icantfindmyphone · 07/08/2026 23:34
