Just wondering if anyone has had similar- shingles on the sciatic nerve?

Aboyt 10 days ago I started to get pain in my left leg. It started in my calf but I could feel it as high as my thigh and down to my toes. I was also getting extreme skin sensitivity. Went to the GP who th oh got she could feel a lump in my calf. As my dad died from PE caused by DVT I was scared!
Luckily it got ruled out quickly with bloods and ultrasound and the nurses said it was likely sciatica. Follow up with the GP said the same.

The day after I notice I’ve got two clusters of very painful spots- one on my lower back and further over in my thigh. 3rd Dr… looks like shingles and the placement of it means it’s affecting the sciatic nerve.

im on antivirals, I’m immunocompromised and I feel like absolute dog poo. The pain is shockingly bad.

Anyone ever had leg shingles? Or got any tips for being comfortable?

Oh I’m so sorry! It is the worst pain I have ever had. I was shocked at the swelling. I’m sorry to say that only time and meds helped mine. I hope you feel better soon

Sorry to hear that OP, you poor thing. I had it recently with a rash at the top of my butt crack! I also had referred pain down one leg for a bit. I’m immunocompromised and the worst of the pain was over in 2 weeks although 3 months later I still have a few painless bumps on the skin there.

A cool wet cloth on the rash was soothing. Keep on top of pain meds and rest, wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thank you both. Im truly shocked by the level of pain shingles causes. The anti virals make me feel a bit rough too, not ideal in the middle of the school holidays.
