6yo bad dreams

Ds6 has suddenly started to have bad dreams. He's struggling to go to bed because he's worried about bad dreams and now he's awake because he's had a bad dream and can't go back to sleep. Ive been in and out to him for a hour and am now sitting by his bed. He just can't settle. He's got the light on. I'm out of ideas to help him and absolutely knackered. Any words of wisdom?

What are the bad dreams about? We used to have a special spray (lavender pillow spray) that was an 'anti-wolf/anti-witch/anti-otherbadthings' spray that we'd apply to my DCs pillow and doors before bed to help them get to sleep.
Other than that, we always had to lie down with them until they went to sleep.

Tried "anti bad dreams spray " and it did help with going to sleep but I'm here again because he woke up and just keeps crying. I'm really worried this is going to become a habit but what do you do when a 6yo is sobbing that they are scared.

Sorry to hear that... In my (admittedly limited) experience, the bad dreams come in phases, so sometimes it's days (or weeks) in a row, then it just stops for months at a time. You might just need to keep giving cuddles and ride it out, hopefully he'll get over it soon.
