Bikini pictures - feeling liberated.

I’m in my 40s. I haven’t had Botox or fillers! I’m constantly battling with my body image - I train three times a week and go for long walks five times a week. My tummy is really soft and not the toned and perfect body we’ve been accustomed to seeing on social media. I was uploading some images from my family holiday to insta and wasn’t going to post a few pictures as they showed my rolls and cellulite! Then I genuinely thought ‘fuck it’ what the fuck am I afraid of and just posted them.

I know I sound stupid but I feel liberated just not caring. I’m also dating and that small act has now filled me with confidence and has changed my mindset completely! If a man is so vain and vacuous that they only want to date a perfect instagram body, then they aren’t for me! Amazing how this one little act has done wonders for my self esteem. Just wanted to share! Xxxx

I was exactly the same when I hit 40. Got my first bikini for about 20 years - no longer gave a fuck what anyone thought.

Enjoy the freedom of middle age!

Fantastic, I think it’s very liberating to actually acknowledge that your body is fit and healthy, you aren’t using filters or putting up a fake image.
I don’t go on social media anymore and that has improved my confidence no end.

You have done so well taking the approach you have done. Well done, weve all got bits we would change but being happy in your own body is the way it should be

I’m 57 and decided three years ago I’m only going to wear swimming costumes now and that’s also liberating. I love my healthy, not perfect body and the pleasure being able to swim and do all the things my body allows me to do.
