Outdoor cinema party for teenager: hire equipment or buy your own?

Hoping that someone can help! Teenage daughter really wants outdoor cinema party in the garden for a few friends for her birthday this month. No neighbours and plenty of room so it’s a nice idea. Looked into the cost of renting screen and projector and it’s so much money, thinking it would be better to buy own screen and projector myself. If anyone has any experience of either renting equipment or buying own then Id be really grateful to read your opinions please. Thank you!

You will also need a sound system. An indoor soundbar or whatever simply won’t work outdoors - you will have to turn it up so loud that it will just distort horribly. You need proper tops on stands, and ideally a sub if it is an action movie. If you know someone in a band ask them if you can borrow some PA but if you don’t then you are better off renting.

I bought a projector, it was only about £30.
