Clothes shopping with 13 year old DS

DS12 is about to turn 13 and wants some clothes as he is growing but isn’t very good at articulating what he wants or finding it online. None of us are fashion conscious. DH definitely can’t help.

So we have agreed that we will go into our closest city for a day out and see what we can find in the shops.
Which shops should we have on our list?

In the past I’ve relied on next but we’ve struggled to find stuff he likes there last couple of years, except maybe tshirts.

H&M? JD Sports?

Does he like sporty stuff? Or skater style?

I’d recommend looking at H&M, Nike, Carhartt and Next for items like cargos for teens (although wider choice online).

Try googling 'good clothing looks for 13 yr old boys'; loads came up and not too expensive. It even had a 'capsule wardrobe'.

My local H&M have teen clothes in the kids section, I think they go up to age 14/15.
DS like wearing cargo trousers, I think they're designed for hiking, from Decathlon.
