Glasses wearer and gym locker padlocks- what do I do?

I've finally joined a gym, but how will I use the locker for my bag as I can't read the numbers on the padlock without my glasses on. I only need the glasses for reading though, not in the gym. Anyone figured this out?

Put glasses in their case. Carry them into the gym. Put them down by the weights machine or in the water bottle holder on the treadmill. Or on a windowsill. What am I missing?!

Can you get a padlock with a key? Do your gym clothes have one of those tiny zipped pockets that would fit a key?

I can barely keep track of my glasses at home - would 100 percent lose them in the gym. And anyway I don't want to carry them around and to classes.

I don't have room for a key in my current leggings, but that's a good idea @JennyWreny if I look for leggings with a zip pocket perhaps.

Use a sharpie to colour in the zeros on the combination and then set them all to zero and count the numbers as you turn the dials. I guess that depends on how much you can see.

I have this issue. I just have to take my glasses with me into the gym.

I have this issue i bought a padlock with bigger numbers, still struggling a bit. I tend to just move the top and bottom digits by one click so its locked but i can unlock. But tbh I think i might just get a key.

I am terrible at leaving stuff, i take an inhaler in with me to gym then i swim after and I left my inhaler and spacer by the poolside. They throw everything away at the end of the day as well so anything left is gone unless you phone up, and go back the same day which i cant do due to childcare issues. So annoying.

I use a padlock with a key and attach the key to my bra strap.

I stopped using a key after I managed to lock the key in my locker & had to get a staff member to break the padlock, so that’s something to consider too.

Buy a pair of gym shorts/leggings with a side pocket, game changer, for me.

I have a padlock that unlocks with a plastic card which is the size of a credit card. It goes inside my phone case while I work out

I had no idea you could get a fingerprint one, I'll try that and report back later on. If that doesn't work well I will go with key, keeping it on bra is a good idea too. Thanks.

Glasses in a soft case attached to your water bottle with a scrunchie? Or even hot glue a case to the side of it.

Buy some cheap ready readers for the gym, then it won’t be the end of the world if you do lose them.

I only have cheap reading glasses, they stay on my head at all times I’m not using them.

I do commit the cardinal sin of using my phone between sets when strength training so always have my glasses with me😳

I was going to suggest taking a photo of the combination on her phone so she could blow it up big enough to read the numbers, but if she forgets her glasses I assumed she’d lock the phone in the locker so it didn’t get forgotten.

I had exactly this issue so totally understand. Keys and glasses are an additional faff on the gym floor. Now, I only change the bottom number when I lock it. Two turns to the right to lock and then two to the left to reopen. I am not too worried about break-ins in the locker room but I guess it depends on your gym.

Does “pinpoint vision” work for long sightedness? I am extremely shortsighted and it works for me. Food up your index finger to make a tiny hole and look through it. It gives you a focal point or something. It does make you look a total twit though!

Or could you hold the padlock at arm’s length and lean back as far as you can?

Hang a cheap pair of reading glasses off the padlock!

How about a small folding magnifying glass? They are made for this purpose.

I had this when I first joined the gym, I was mainly swimming so ended up taking a bag poolside with me with my reading glass on. I eventually got a padlock with bigger numbers and only move the numbers by 1 😂

I got a giant padlock.
One lady at our gym hooks a pair of reading glasses through the lock.
