Decided some aspects of my bedroom look awful. What are your thoughts on these potential tweaks? Pics attached

It’s dawned on me that my bedroom isn’t looking as nice as it could so I’ve mocked up a couple of images and wanted to know your thoughts

I’d go slightly darker with the curtains - more oatmeal / flax as opposed to cream and perhaps with a little texture in them and I’d perhaps go a little less busy with the gallery wall by the mirror

Just wanted to gain a few opinions! Rest of the room I’m happy with - we have a thick pile cream carpet, a cream and gold feature type wall and reclaimed wood furniture

Cosy! Glad you've gone big! I think the tiebacks might be unnecessary and it could look better to have the curtains draping straight down so there isn't such a gap between the edge of the recess and the window frame.

The curtains look lovely, they tie everything together. I'd agree on the curtain tiebacks not being necessary and the curtains looking better hanging straight when open - see what you think.

I think the room needs a cornice to break up the boxiness of it. Maybe one for the longer term plans, but it would definitely soften the room.

I'd get a radiator cover, and put your mirror on there rather than on the windowsill(think that's a bit of a fire risk anyway when the sun shines on it)and get a nice ,small box for your brushes and combs etc and keep that on the radiator cover aswell.
It frees up your window sill for something more decorative.

Yesss - not a bad idea to see what the curtains are like not being held back. I shall look tomorrow but this could well be a goer

also yes to a radiator cover - will measure and order tomorrow
