Obviously namechanged for this one. The last couple of weeks flies seem to make a beeline for my head and hair. It’s horrible! They are singling me out! Help!

They think you’re a flower.

Take the compliment. Stand proudly with your buzzy friends. You are a vision!!

Have you changed hair product recently? If so change back!

Flyladyasintheinsect · 01/08/2026 15:05

My daughter said that as my roots are showing! She sad I must look like a giant flower from above!

Hairspray? The scent of your shampoo or conditioner.

I use the same as some other family members who aren’t getting targeted. I’ve stopped all styling products.

My shampoo and conditioner aren’t particularly strong. I’ve tried the other brands the house uses but it’s made no difference. It’s become a standing joke in the house now. Why couldn’t it be butterflies or something?

Hate to say it but flies are attracted to moisture, so if you're a bit sweaty they'll go for that.

I think i read that butterflies pee indiscriminately though so its a double edged sword 😅

Do you sweat a lot? Flies love sweat apparently 😵

I bought a new acid yellow running top last week, I've had huge zooming Eurobees launching themselves at my torso 🐝🪰

It’s happened when I’m a bit sweaty and when I’m not at all sweaty. I’ve asked family to be really candid and tell me if I smell or smell any different. They’ve all said no. Are there more flies around this year?

if they are the small noisy type (fungus gnats) they are attracted to your breath (not suggesting your breath is bad btw!). We had these last year and they were so annoying, kept getting in our faces.

They just look like normal flies to me. I’ve made a flytrap. They’re ignoring it and going for me. Mosquitoes tend to favour some people over others and always go for me. Flies have never sought me out before. I’m starting to wonder if something has died but can’t smell anything and doesn’t explain why they’re targeting me! They then all disappear and come back again. It’s really weird. I’ve ordered an outdoor insect light / zapper. I have also been nicknamed the flied piper.
