Hello

We (2 adults three kids 1-10) are off to Legoland soon - will just be for a full day.

Ive not been in over 10yrs now so im just looking for ‘must do’s’ when there and tips really ?

Take snacks, drinks and pac-a-macs/rain ponchos.

The Sky Lion virtual reality ride is pretty cool. I don't think a 1 year old can go on though.

We like the Dragon ride best. And also pirate falls, the haunted house and hydras challenge.

Not sure about for little ones though.

I always bring a picnic personally so we can eat as any when (and where) we want.

Unfortunately I can’t cope with this ride! I’ve tried twice and get intensely motion sick very quickly, and have to shut my eyes for the remainder of the ride!

We were there yesterday!

If you’re big rollercoaster people, get there bang on 10am and go right down the hill from the entrance area, instead of left, to do some of the bigger rides first before the queues get crazy.

Save miniland til the end as you can go at 6ish once the rides have closed. It’s very relaxed at that time (everyone’s heading back slowly instead of rushing through)

Bring plenty of snacks/drinks/packed lunch so you can eat in the queue, and only buy food/drink you WANT rather than needing to find food when the kids are whining, as I find the food options quite spread out.

Don't be afraid to split up, one adult takes the younger one/s, and the other takes the older ones - you cover more ground this way and there’s plenty of rides that appeal only to little ones (and vice versa) - I find it easy to find people and meet up again there compared to other places!

Use the Legoland app (download before you get there as there are a few areas with terrible internet!) which gives you live queue timings and a map. I always watch it for rides that break down, as when they come back up again the queue is much shorter 😂

When you arrive, go straight to the back of the park and work forwards. The Dragon is a very popular ride towards the back of the park. Soon after the park opens you should be able to get on it quite quickly.
There are plenty of places to sit and eat. Miniland has a picnic area and also in Adventure Land there are places to sit. We normally eat while watching a show or queuing.
Avoid the wettest rides at the start of the day, especially if you don’t have towels and a change of clothes. On the flip side, don’t leave them to the end of the day otherwise you might not be able to dry out before the journey home.
The pirate stunt show in the centre lake was brilliant fun and the dc love it.
When the park is getting closer to closing time this is a great time to hit the big rides such as Deep Sea Adventure and the Dragon.
Mythica (best ride in the park!), Monster Party and Spinning Spider can fit on loads of people at at time so the queues go much quicker than rides that can only fit on a few people at a time (like Destiny’s Bounty for example).
If you want to visit the shop, go during the middle of the day when it is much quieter. It’s crazy busy at the end of the day.
Ride queues usually close before the park closes (often up to 30 minutes before on busy days). If you're already in a queue before it closes, you'll still get to ride. After you've finished, you can make your way towards the exit at your own pace. E.g. if the park closes at 5, it's perfectly normal to still be walking towards the exit at 5.30 after your final ride.
The car parks can take a while to clear immediately after closing. If you're not in a rush, there are some benches after the exit where you could sit and eat a picnic tea before heading home.

Make sure the children are wearing clothes that you can easily spot them in.
Food and drink is expensive.

If you are driving there, go via the peanut roundabout. (A332, B383, B3022)

It's a longer route but won't be congested at peak times and it's scenic.

Thanks all. I used to love rides but since a lot of them have been made 3D I just can’t face them without getting sick. What ones should I be avoiding ? My oldest is a massive rollercoaster fan and will go on anything. She’s 4’10 so I imagine she’ll get on most but wondering if she’ll be able to ride alone as hubby is 6’5 and built big so doesn’t find most rides comfortable !

@OnNaturesCourse , I have one of those. We had one of those photos that you get at tourist attractions. Nice photo of me but he was decapitated . It wasn't at Legolamb though.

We got a brilliant one of DC and us on the Pirate Falls. The DC's faces are a picture.
