This has just made me really happy ! I had a parking ticket - it was a very quiet car park , it’s always quiet . I was there for 15 min max just popping in the shops. I always park in the same place when I go and I always have to kind of estimate that I’m in the space , as there are barely any lines. To the point , I visit so often, that I don’t even look any more I just know from where along the fence I am. I am never in between cars, I can always park in the same place as not a busy car park .
I knew it was a kind of controlled car park as you do have to pay , but under 30 min are free and I never stay longer than that unless I’m at the nail salon there and they take my number plate so it’s free.
I got a ticket in the post. Viewed it online. My wheel is barely over the line at the front , you can only see a smidge of the line at the front of the bay and nothing elsewhere. I tried to do the appeal online and couldn’t, it wouldn’t load. It was addressed to my son as the car is a motability car.
I then forgot all about it. Another letter came , again addressed to my son. Couldn’t call , said my time for appeal had passed and it was now £170. Went online and it did actually let me go through to the appeal part, so I went straight to the car park I took photos of the whole car park ( barely any lines ) , then with the help of ChatGPT I told them the car park wasn’t maintained, lines barely visible , had caused no obstruction , that this was a ridiculous matter as I had a tiny part of my wheel over the only visible part of the line. I also said that this needed to go in my name as my son could not drive , I didn’t want him having his name attached ti this and that I would be contacting my MP as this was unfair that they do not maintain the car park and then try to fine people for minimal things that would likely not happen if the car park was maintained .
Today they told me it was cancelled 🎉 this has made my day as I did not think it would work and was gutted that I had to find £170!
