Fears that you are obsessed with

Anyone else have a fear that they are weirdly obsessed with? I am obsessed with sharks and (mostly terrible) shark movies and you would never in a million years find me swimming in the sea, because I have literally scared myself shitless about it.

I actually live by the sea (in Scotland, so the chances of me getting in there would be remote anyway!) and it's so beautiful but terrifying at the same time. I'm enthralled by it. I wonder how you can be so scared and totally obsessed with something at the same time?!

I am obsessed with getting robbed. Every night I lie in pure fear until I fall asleep that either my car will be broken into or else my house will be broken into.

I run alone in the morning and worry about getting attacked by dogs. There are a few yappy little shits on my route but also some huge ones that go mental when I go past their gate, I'm sure one day one of them will escape and get me 😞

The giant house spiders that live in the wood behind us and come in to our house every Autumn

Not me, but DS is obsessed with a seagull falling through my sunroof.

He's early 20's and normally a really chilled out and level headed chap. I've had to take to not opening the sunroof when he's around 😆

I'm probably like that with cancer. Extraordinarily no one in my family from Grandparents (all 4 smoked) to Grandchildren have ever had cancer except one Grandad had very treatable skin cancer due to being an outdoor worker before sunscreen was a thing.

Because of that, I'm convinced the law of averages means it's well overdue and I think it will come my way one day. Not a health anxiety thing, I've been to the Doctor once in last 10 years but just a weird premonition I have.
