Seagull thievery

You treat yourself to a delicious and expensive souvlaki chicken wrap for lunch. As you walk towards the park to sit and enjoy, a seagull dive bombs you stealing a beak full.

c) cut off the top and eat the untouched part

We were recently in St Andrews and honest to God we were both battered on the head from behind and the whole toastie was gone before we realised what had happened 😂

My friend got attacked by one outside McDonald’s in Glasgow. SHe took her breakfast muffin mcthingy out the bag and just felt ‘swoop’ through her hair. All she had left was the part she was holding, a gull had swooped down from the building roof.

There are several fat ones in Oban that will edge close hoping you get distracted for a second.

One of them stole DD's whole ice cream cone from Luvian's straight out of her hand and flew off with it. They are brazen little bastards there.

They absolutely are brazen and they work in gangs, little so & so's 😂

I think whoever is counting Herring gulls, and deciding they are dwindling, is only counting at the seaside, because there are thousands of the things inland.
One attacked small DS, stole his ice cream and made his hand bleed.
Another dive bombed my friend's cat and terrified her so much she never went outside again.
DH works at a Dockyard with small, deep towers where a Herring gull got trapped. It was rescued and taken several miles away. Next day a gull was back in the same place. DH swears it was the same one. 🙄😂
I've seen what they eat in the streets. I wouldn't eat anything they've come in contact with.

That's assuming the sandwich is at all healthy to seagulls. I suspect the opposite, hence why it's also such a bad idea to feed bread to pigeons - messes with their digestive system.

Yeah, bread isn't really good for them. I've given them chips before whilst at the seaside and bought a minced meat pasty for one once as I felt sorry for it.

Sit with your backs to a wall, specifically- that way they can't swoop in from behind.

Stare them down- studies have shown they don't like eye contact.

As already mentioned, don't walk and eat.
