Packing for a few days in Glasgow

I've had enough of the heat in SE now, and whilst often at this time of year I'm looking forward to going somewhere warm, currently the idea of the 15 degrees and rain forecast for while we're in Glasgow is something to look forward to.

However, after weeks of wearing as little as possible, I'm not sure we remember what 15 degrees is. DP is convinced he only needs a handful of tshirts and a spare pair of shorts. I think if I take that lead I'll be cold.

Usually I'd travel in jeans and a jumper/jacket, but the idea of putting those on atm.....

Underseat luggage only, and we'll make it work, but how cold is it in Glasgow?!

Also what time would you aim to be at the airport for an internal flight from Stansted?

It’s lurching between muggy and warm and a bit chilly here in Glasgow. I’d be bringing trousers, shorts, jumpers and a jacket and umbrella. Standard fare for July in Scotland.

Oh and even the warmer days don’t hold their heat i to the evening so chillier then.

The weather here in Edinburgh is truly shit. It has been raining off and on all day, so I can only imagine it’s the same in Glasgow. Bring a waterproof jacket and umbrella 😁

He will be ok,Glasgow has shops if he gets cold, it isn't freezing cold here it rainy but humid, .so a t shirt and shorts and a jacket will be fine.

A fold up waterproof jacket. Either shorts and a jumper or jeans and t shirts. A hoodie.

I fly Stansted to Glasgow and Edinburgh quite a lot, on Ryanair. If you have hand luggage only I’d aim to arrive STN 90 mins before departure.

At the moment you'll need a really good raincoat as the rain showers have been torrential! As others have said some days are fairly warm and muggy, others cooler. Overnight is cool. It's also been fairly breezy. I usually go for light trousers or jeans, top and cardi plus a coat. Sometimes a coat without cardi if it's warm but wet. And you never know, you might get an unexpectedly good day.
Also, shorts are common even in bad or very cold weather here so your DP won't be looking out of place!

Its humid here. You need a light waterproof jacket or an umbrella. Nothing thick like a jumper or winter jacket because you will SWEAT

You need a raincoat, a jumper and decent shoes (even if you're not planning on hiking, wear shoes you are ok with getting wet and even a bit muddy...any rain in Glasgow and pavements are quite muddy).

With the above, you could get away with shorts (locals would) but will probably be a shock to the system after the weather you've had so have some jeans or trousers. Again, imagine walking in the rain in them so avoid flappy wide legs.
