Anyone else find the BBC interview with Zack Polanski rather combative?

Is anyone watching the interview of the Green Party Zach Polanski leader on BBC News tonight?

I had to check It wasn’t GBN. The way she pressed him and kept interrupting made it difficult to watch.

I am not a green supporter btw just noticing a pattern recently with BBC reporting.

Yes. I am not ZP’s biggest fan and I usually think Victoria Derbyshire is pretty good, if on the aggressive side in her interview style.

I could not believe the way she hectored him. Very poor interview.

Also, the panel was not balanced. Gloria de Piero may have been a Labour MP but she is now on GB News. The other panellist is a dyed in the wool Tory.

Nick Watt is always fine but he isn’t enough.

KB, definitely! She has been stepping up and has the good of the country at heart, even if I usually disagree with her.

Zac P is nothing like the Greens of old. Far too many people have no idea what he’s about and how the party has changed. He needs robust questioning because he’s far left and many haven’t woken up to this. He’s good at ducking and diving and he’s got questions to answer. The nice old greens have gone.

Quite true, but violence is not his thing. Any apology to NF for what seems to have been a stupid and quickly corrected mistake, dug up and massively amplified by NF, would have been grossly distorted.

Victoria Derbyshire knows this.

He does need robust questioning but hectoring is no good. We need to get tothe nub of what happened.

What was yours? The only reason the post gained any traction is that NF amplified it after it had been quickly taken down. The post was the sole topic of the interview.

He and the greens need to be heavily scrutinised.

I was a Green Party Member years ago.
We were all into eating lentils, saving whales and getting rights for sex-workers.
Now they seem like a group of oddballs led by a mysogynistic hypnotist who dresses like a bag of crap tied in the middle and needs a good dentist.

Mine is that you own your mistakes and condemn violence wholeheartedly, which ZP did. I write that as someone who is not his biggest fan.

At the same time, it is not prudent to give someone who is being investigated for potential criminality, who has a key aide in jail for traitorous acts in service to Russia, any ammunition. ZP threaded that needle.

You will have to watch it. He’s saying he’s acknowledging but not apologising or some such. VD bats that back to him numerous times in disbelief.

This thread is obviously about VDs ‘robustness’ in that. I don’t think she was robust. I think she was actually exasperated and thinking ffs man just apologise so we can all move on with our lives. It was like a petulant child and a mother trying desperately to nudge him in the correct direction and then she just gives up. That moment of acceptance 😂 In a way it’s quite funny.

The man's a liability. He's so far detached from the Greens when I used to support them, it's unbelievable. I have voted Green many times - now they seem to be not Green at all, but all about things like Gaza & trans.
I think Victoria Derbyshire was totally correct to question him like this.

it’s not the first time his liking a post has caused controversy and whips up his support this is his style of politics

He has changed The Green Party that have done so much good in raising awareness leading policy changes to what now a party obsessed with Isreal/Gaza and identity politics

So we only apologise for things we do deliberately now, not things we do by mistake that upset/cause offence to other people?

The man is a moron and the Green party is now losing popularity. Too much attention on their leader for the silly claims he has made (increasing breast size via hypnosis, claiming that trans women are women).

Also failing to pay council tax while living on a houseboat for three years.

Also failing to condemn the "Zionism is Racism" motion at the Greens Spring Conference that would have formally defined Zionism – the belief in Jewish people’s right to self-determination – as a “racist ideology”. The motion also demanded the abolition of the state of Israel.

Don't forget that when those police officers heroically tackled the armed terrorist in Golders Green who had just stabbed two Jews (and a friend earlier), Zack's stated concern was for the terrorist's wellbeing rather than praise for the police. I don't think he apologised for that either.

He’s deeply unpleasant, far from what Greens used to be. I’d never vote for them now.

Just rewatched it. I think it was a good interview. It was probably allocated too much time though but in parliamentary recess that often happens.

I think VD tends to robustly interview everyone. Its her style. She doesn't allow whataboutery from any party.
