Colleague let me know she farted during a pelvic exam today. I have a hold my beer story to this.

A few years ago I underwent emergency surgery whilst in sepsis to remove my ovary which had an infection which had caused said sepsis.

Before I went in I apologised to the surgeon for not shaving my vagina as I had been so ill. He sat with me and said oh don’t worry people have weed on me in surgery before.

On my awakening from the anaesthetic I was wheeled to my room where I was met with said surgeon. He sat on the end of my bed and let me know I had given him ‘a story for the pub’. On asking what he meant, he informed me I had shit on his arm during surgery.

Please feel free to add any of your medical mishaps, I need a proper laugh this evening 🤣

Is this meant to be funny? If not then what is it meant to be?

Bloody roll on September.

Ridiculous

They often need to use an instrument that goes pv to move the uterus from the inside. The vagina and the anus are pretty close so yes it is conceivable that if someone’s bowels open the surgeon who’s doing that uterine manipulation will notice!

That makes sense, thanks. My mum had a transvaginal hysterectomy a few years ago, much easier post operative recovery.

Don't feel bad OP, I shat out a tub's worth of green pistachio ice cream I'd eaten the night hefore whilst pushing out DD1. DH reckons it was still green. Poor miidwife. Have a vague recollection of telling the doc during my colonoscopy under sedation that my party piece was playing Bohemian Rhapsody in farts. It isn't. I think all medics are used to this stuff

It’s not kids on holiday making this up. It’s the usual creepy poo troll(s).

Wait? Why?

why are we posting this?

why is a surgeon operating on your ovary by there?

as someone who works in medical there is no way this is true. Not one surgeon I know would ever do this to a patient. There is no need and all you’d do is embarrass them and it’s highly unethical.

I had a puss build up over my bladder where my ovarian cyst had ruptured and moved into my kidney. Would you like my medical notes? I also had a stent put into my urethra? Why would I make it up 😂

Edited

Nope. Didn’t happen

Here’s my nephrostomy bag scar from where it didn’t happen. 🙄

No one is saying you didn’t have the op

evryone is saying that the dr wouldn’t tell you that even if you had.

not a very good surgeon then, he shouldn't have had his arm anywhere near your butt
