Don't need spectacular quality mainly forms that need signing and occasional photos - quite intermittent

Cost-effective Printer ink that doesnt dry up with occasional use more important than the cost of the printer

I hate getting rid of things that are still usable my last printer (prob bought for work purposes in around 2014) became too expensive to replace the ink (over £100)

Not a clue where to start any more

You really want to get a laser printer for occasional use, as inkjets dry up, and cost a fortune to run.

For B&W, this one is a relatively decent price: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3297762

Avoid anything HP at all costs. They're trying to force everyone down a subscription "pay as you print" model.

Colour laser printers are considerably more expensive, so you might want to consider some kinds of online print service to print photos and deliver instead.

I also have a mono Brother printer. HL- L1242W
Does the job. No hassle getting it linked to a Mac. I'd never EVVA get another HP.

If you use I- devices to print from like iPad / iPhone then air drop printing is easy. I just replaced ours with a EcoTank £150 as I’m printing lots of exam papers out for teens and although we can print via an App over WiFi it’s not as easy as the previous one was with airdrop
