Can I ask a YouTuber to remove an old video I was put in without consent?

Hello so this post maybe be unusual but I really need advice/help.

when I was between 9-13 I was really into YouTubers like the big gaming ones and I assume those of you who have children may know some of them. When I was 12 I decided to send a video to him because his videos were helping me get through a hard time, for context I was moving secondary schools I also had undiagnosed autism at the time so no one knew what was different about me. My mum said I could so I made a little video in my bedroom one evening and sent it by twitter which I didn’t use other than to follow my favourite creators (my mum did monitor my internet access) a week later i see he’s uploaded. Obviously I open the video and watch it and right at the end he puts the video of me in his video. Now yes the video was blurred out but you could still make things out and the stuff behind me, and my voice was the same he just didn’t include my age and name. The issue is he never asked for consent from me or my mother before hand, not to mention my voice doesn’t sound much different seven years later and most people I show it to know it’s me even if I don’t say who it is.

I know it may sound silly but seven years later it still haunts me a little bit especially because I was a child being put on the internet without my consent or my mums.

i would like the video taken down as it has got millions of views I believe right now he has 29 million subscribers so you can imagine the amount of views it’s got, even back then he was big on YouTube etc.

Yes of course you can - contact the creator and explain your privacy concerns and provide the exact timestamps where you appear so that they can be removed.

i have but unfortunately I got no response. I’m not sure wether to try and contact someone who works with him but I can’t find anything I really have no idea what to do especially because he has a huge fan base and don’t fancy getting attacked by his crazy stans

Have you tried reporting the video to YouTube? I've no idea what their reporting categories or their criteria for taking a video down are, but if the guy's ignoring you then it's worth a try? Also even if he won't listen to you he might listen to YouTube as he won't want to risk his account or revenue.

If he's not responded and you've given him ample opportunity then you need to file a privacy report - go to the video and open the reporting option and submit your request through here: https://support.google.com/legal/troubleshooter/1114905?hl=en

You need to specify that you were a minor and that he didn't have your consent.
