Why do i do this.

So I'm sitting in my lazy butt thinking why do I do this. My energy is almost zero probably because my food intake has been low. But even without that my iron/folate is always low so possibly worse now.

I find it hard to keep my house tidy. But I do stupid things. Like I will load the dishwasher. Then not empty is. Then dirty plates a things end up all over the work tops. I have hidden bins. I will put one bin liner in one bin but not the other. Then the bin over flows. Then i get a carrier bag and start putting rubbish in there. Other times I will do a clothes wash and leave it in the machine for 3 or 4 days them have to rewash it. In the mean time theres more washing piling up. When i do actually get the washing done I put it on my bed to sort later. Later never comes and I sleep next to a big pile of washing. I'm currently putting new flooring in my daughters bedroom and its taken me 5 days just to empty the room and take up the carpet. Oh and i blocked all the landing with rubbish bags, bits of furniture and random crap I have thrown carpet down the stairs . Knowing its in my way to be able to get the new flooring into dds room . There's probably more things.

Things do eventually get done and then it's the same cycle over again.

I know its not logic I don't know why i do it.

I have probably left Things out. But my head feels rushed. Shame it doesn't match my body 😭

I'm like this and Im audhd
Sounds like executive functioning issues

Another with ADHD here, I think you are a member of our club OP.

Yep adhd. Demand avoidance and executive function issues.

Although lots of people also just avoid tasks, if the consequences aren't great enough to make you change the pattern will keep repeating..

The great news OP is that there is no cure 🤣
But you might find that you can cut yourself a bit of slack if you can understand why your brain works like this

This is why I tend to write tasks down in my diary. Im much more likely to do things if they are staring me in the face and I can cross them off after!

First you'd benefit from sorting out your food intake and iron etc, but you know that. Also getting enough sleep, and maybe your hormones are changing.

I don't know much about ADHD, but lethargy and self-defeating behaviours can also arise from CPTSD. If it is that, there are support groups online and therapy like EMDR can help.

Is it even worth looking into it more possible diagnosis if it is the case.

You might have adhd. You might not. There is a lot more to it than not wanting to bother tidying the washing

It can be. I'm starting medication this week which i hope will help.
It's really common for symptoms to become more pronounced during peri menopause too, which could explain why you're struggling right now

To answer another question cptsd is complex post traumatic stress disorder
