Lost text message

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I am setting up a new business and yesterday I received a message. I didn’t manage to read it as I was out but I saw that it had been sent. The message has disappeared. I can’t find it anywhere. I assume it was a text but could have been whatapp I suppose.

If someone messages and then deletes it, would I know about it? I’m worried that someone has reached out and now it looks like I’m ignoring them. I guess they could have changed their mind but then surely I’d see that it says ‘ message deleted’ or something like that.

If it was WhatsApp I think you’d see that the message has been deleted. If text/imessage maybe not? I think you might be able to if iMessage to iMessage but not sure whether same can be done on normal sms. Do you recognise the name on the message and have you looked to see if you’ve got a “deleted message” notification on any messages?

Thanks. I thought that about WhatsApp too. I didn’t recognise the number and I only saw the first line so have limited information to search for. I can’t see deleted message anywhere. It’s so bizarre and driving me nuts!

My phone does that with voice messages - it sends a text saying what was said but then the text disappears.
