Would you worry about this?

I'm freckled.. very. Arms, legs, face, as I'm outside a good portion of the day in all weathers ( allotment and active dog!) I do remember sunscreen (most) mornings but have still sunburned more times than I like to think about... especially as a child when no one ever put sunscreen on me.
I keep a check on moles but a few days ago noticed this. I often have scratches and odd marks from gardening but am not aware of catching anything and it's just by where my watch sits. It looks a bit like a blood blister sort of vaguely red and brown. Not painful. I feel like there was a freckle there.
I don't want to go wasting a doctor's appointment if it's literally a freckle caught on a bush or something but I don't want to miss a melanoma either.
Docs now or wait a couple of weeks to see if it goes?

Could be basal cell carcinoma - won't kill you but worth getting it cut out. Best be safe than sorry and get it checked out.

Absolutely get that checked urgently and I’ll include a photo to your GP and say you have concerns about melanoma.

Given you spend a lot of time in the sun and it looks like you have a lot of sun damage already, it needs to be checked urgently. I say this as someone with advanced metastatic melanoma. Never leave it because it spreads very quickly.

If it ends up being nothing, then great, no harm done. Be particularly mindful if it’s changing, growing, itching or bleeding. The fact you only just noticed it means it’s likely new rather than an old sun spot.

Yeah if it's basal cell it's not life threatening at all. They do need to cut it out though. Or as you say it could be a small trauma injury. But surely it would hurt at least a bit if it was that?

Either way book an appointment for soon to have it checked. If it disappears between now and then just cancel.

Go to the doctors , I’ve had something like this for a couple of years , it went a bit scabby and was occasionally itchy , it never changed shape or colour and was larger than yours and on my leg .
Ot turned out to bowens disease which is a very “mild “ type of cancer that can be cured with a cream . After 3 weeks of treatment it’s very nearly gone .
Definitely get your GP’s opinion .
