Is anyone in the motor trade?

I am looking for a new (to me) car and while looking at auto trader came across the MG ZS. I like the look of the car however, on looking there seems to be a huge amount of them for sale. If you work in the motor trade, do you know of the reason why? It’s putting me off and some of the prices seem quite low in comparison to other similar styled cars.

This is the car.

They’re utter dog shit. Avoid at all costs.

I went to the GP surgery today. I notice my GP now has a Porsche.

Can you explain why? Have you or do you have one?

Ok, a bit out my price range.

Cheap, nasty, poorly built, parts availability - take your pick. For £12k you could buy a slightly older Toyota.

I have one. Its awful!

Cheap, Chinese crap. The screen to control the radio/heating etc was replaced at 6 months old as it kept freezing. Its been constantly unreliable since, and despite a software update last week, it wont store any radio stations and keeps disconnecting from my phone, resulting in loss of sat nav while driving. They are a common fault.

The inside has worn so much more compared to other cars I have owned.

MPG is awfully low.

Spares are difficult to get hold of. It took 3 months to get a front bumper after a minor accident.

It feels cheaply made and at five years old, feels so much older.

My mortgage is up for renewal next year so I am holding off getting another car on finance until thats been sorted, but I cannot wait to get shot of it.

I'm told they're rust buckets and essentially cheap Chinese crap.
Best avoided - many better options out there!

The market was flooded with them. Cheap and cheerful attracts a lot of custom. 3/4 years later the lease is up, person gives car back and nobody wants to buy it.

Thanks for the feedback. Very helpful. Marking that one off the list.
