Do we need to tell insurers about a speed awareness course?

DH has just got a fine and speed awareness course (24mph in a 20). Do we need to tell the insurers, or only if you get points?

When I did one, the person running the course recommended we did, but said it was up to us if we did. I have a company car, so told our fleet manager. She wasn’t interested in the slightest about letting the insurance company they use know.

No, you pay for the course instead of a fine!
Most insurers don't need to know. One of mine (years ago) specifically asked but I don't think you need to let them know if they don't ask. It's the attraction of the course, no points & no need to tell the insurers.
ETA Google tells me you don't have to tell them unless they specifically ask, as it's not a conviction.

If you take the speed awareness course you have not admitted to the offence so, unless when you filled out your application for the insurance it specifically asked about SACs you don’t need to declare it.

You absolutely have admitted to the offence. Otherwise you would appeal it. There is no fine but the course fee is almost exactly the same price as the fine.

By accepting the course you’re accepting that you were speeding and this is the consequence. How do you think it works?
