Why are postmen and its always men pathologically unable to ring a doorbell?
Ive put notes on the door to say please ring doorbell I am in.....they dont ring it.
Ive missed three important parcels this week a week that I took off to be in for deliver.
They are for my sisters 50th.
I went down to the sorting office to speak to the manager and ask if they can make allowances for my disability as I am partially deaf...I asked nicely as always and he was so nasty to me.
He said they havent got time to mess around with everyones preferences.
Hello! Disability isnt a preference. Ive had a bell put in that rings in every room so I can hear it.
Surely they have to make allowances for disability?
Im having a ring doorbell put in so I can be notified of people at the door straight away.
Ive left the front door open a few times and they have still left a card. I dont like doing that anyway as its not safe, I live alone and also its fly season so they all come in.
Surely they have to make allowances for disability or do I have to camp out by the front door for hours waiting?

I love my post lady, spent a good 20 mins chatting to her this week.

Our doorbell is on our gate and cos I am disabled i usually shout down the garden that the gate is open but half the time they don't listen. Delivery drivers are worse than postmen. Our postman tends to be the same one and he knows to come in and leave parcels on the deck. I once saw an Evri parcel come flying over the wall avd land on my Budllia after I'd said the gate was open 3 times.

You'd think it would be basic postman 101 to ring a bell or knock when delivering something! My postman is aware of my disability and always rings, knocks and gives me extra time to answer the door.

Please put in a complaint to Royal Mail about the manager at the sorting office. He shouldn't be treating you as though your disability is an inconvenience and he needs pulling up on his shitty attitude and retraining. Royal Mail actually says that it "monitors customer feedback to identify rounds or individuals that need extra support. It then seeks to arrange support through a customer's local delivery office." Obviously that particular staff member isn't following the stated procedures and he's being discriminatory in not doing so.

As far as accessibility goes for deliveries, you can download the Royal Mail App (which also encompasses ParcelForce) and specify your requirements (more time to answer the door, etc). Does the ring doorbell show them ringing the bell or are they just leaving a card without seeing whether you're in?

I encountered a rude postie collecting parcels from the PO yesterday. Clattered past me banging me leg with a sack.
I shouted after him not to worry I'd manage driving with just one leg. He cared not one jot.. i was in the queue to pay and no excuse me just shoved past.
