Sorry for dropping into chat but need advice from anyone that knows Belfast. One of my DS wants to go to the fleadh in Belfast and yes its last-minute.com so most hotels, air bnbs are booked. I was looking at a hotel near Falls Road and as I will be driving dublin reg car and will be on my own with a pre teen will we be ok driving and walking and getting buses in the area. I know it isnt 1980 but on line searches are saying may not be safe and wondered could anyone locally advise as ill be on my own with DS.

If you haven't already, contact them for information about parking and safety, getting around and so on and check the website.

It will be very busy, like all Fleadhs, so join the club! Falls Road has the Bobby Sands memorial nearby, so work it out for yourself how an Irish reg would get on! The other side of the Peace Wall is the Shankill.

You will be fine on the Falls Road. Throw the car in the car park and bus around the city. You will have a great time. What’s the hotel called, you can DM the answer it if you don’t want to say it publicly. I always feel safer in Belfast city than I do in Dublin tbh.

What’s the hotel? You’ll be fine in a Dublin reg car on the Falls. The city will be heaving so you’ll be fine on the glider (bus) or walking.

Thanks all. I think it should be fine as the city will be so busy and so many visitors from everywhere. Appreciate local knowledge.
