Driving myself mad!

So a few days ago I was in the supermarket. As I was leaving I walked past a woman and I instantly recognised her face but I can’t remember where from.
Shes not an old friend or work colleague or mum of any of my kids friends. It’s been 3 days and it’s still driving me mad that I can’t pinpoint where I know her from.
No point to the thread really just venting my frustration

I’d have asked her!

Oh it'll probably come to you OP.
Just like that, no matter how many minutes you spend wracking your brain, you'll suddenly remember.
Happened to DH and I. Of course DH gave up after a minute or so but I kept on trying to place the face.
I was annoyed with myself for not being able to stop thinking about it but when I finally did it suddenly popped into my head, much to my relief, and DH's amusement.

I met a woman in Aldi last week who was convinced I worked at her solicitor’s office. She even called me Kathy. That’s not my name. It was only later I realised I had nursed her husband several years ago. I’m glad I didn’t remember at the time because I don’t think she would want to be reminded of such a sad event.

I had this about 20 years ago. I was in a cafe with my DH in the city where we live. On another table was a woman of around my age. I instantly recognised her and she looked knowingly at me. I felt I knew here quite well, even her voice. But to this day I cannot fathom who she was. I've been through every conceivable scenario and drawn a blank. I didn't go over to her because it somehow didn't seem appropriate at the time. I wish I had.

Could she be someone on TV? Like someone in an advert or something that you see frequently?

I was going to say this. I smiled and said hello to Sally Phillips once at my local train station, thinking she was an acquaintance or someone I saw often, she smiled and said hello back to me. I walked away wracking my brains trying to pin down who she was when the penny finally dropped!

I don’t think she’s from tv, I’m going to try and forget about it and hopefully it’ll pop in my head

I was in our local small supermarket the other day and I saw a very glam looking woman and I knew I knew her from somewhere. Couldn’t put my finger on it at all. Then last night I realised she actually works in the shop. I just wasn’t used to seeing her in her normal clothes all dressed up.

I had this exact thing so I went back and asked the person where I knew her from.
Turns out she is our local news reader who’s been on sick leave for a year.
OMG talk about embarrassing, I wanted the ground to consume me!
She was lovely and appreciated being recognised as she’d been away from the telly for a while.
