Microsoft Authenticator Help

After 20 years in an early years role I now find myself in a more emails/teams environment.

I have some how locked myself out of my emails because they need me to use authenticator, but authenticator doesn't come up with the pass code and im stuck.

So I try to log in it says you need authenticator to let you in I go to authenticator nothing [it used to work]

Ive tried unistalling/reinstalling, clearing history, the cache, turn it on/off again. Ive raised the issue internally but havent heard back.

Is there a simple thing i havent done/considered. I have tried on phone/laptop/ipad.

Im autistic and it may be something very simple but its stressing me out as I cant believe I cant work it out.

Any ideas?

why do you mean by "nothing" in the authenticator - is it showing the name of your email app but there's no code beneath it?

When I had to use Authenticator for work, I logged in to work on my laptop and Authenticator sent me the code to the App on my mobile phone. That was the way it was set up.
Before that I had an RSA device which got the code when I logged into work. You had to be fairly quick to enter it before it expired/became invalid and a new one was sent!

I use authenticator too. When I trigger it I get a code pop up via an app on my mobile phone which I type into the screen on the laptop. However, I often unlock my phone before triggering it as the code doesn't always pop up otherwise. Maybe ask your IT help desk to walk you through how to use it?

It used to give me the code, for the past year ive used it and its been fine But now im not getting a code a message either triggering em to open the app or if I open the app.

Ilm try emailing thw help desk again.
