Inventing new eggcorns for a bit of fun...

Eggcorns - such as "doggy dog world" and "escape goat" can be a bit annoying but also quite amusing, so I thought it might be entertaining to create some new ones.

Not sure whether this will take off, but I'll go first:

It's been like that since the gecko (get go).

But that's not an eggcorn? An eggcorn is when the mistake still makes sense, like an acorn looks like egg and grows (like corn), hence eggcorn.

I think these look more like malapropisms.

Chicken spots. That’s the only one I know.

EDIT: No you’re right malapropism. I said it might be malaphor but that’s mushing two idioms together. Ignore me

Yes, you're right. Malapropism rather than eggcorn.

Is this chicken pox?

Lots of these on the "viscous attack" threads on Pedants' corner.

Had a colleague say 'He wouldn't say boo to a ghost' 😅
