Can you please tell me what is your favourite, really refreshing drinks, especially for hot weather?

I usually have tonic water, with a squeeze of lime but am thinking I may be missing out on something 😄

Not a fan of anything overly sweet.

I’m currently really enjoying bitter lemon. It needs to be really cold.

SqueakyDinosaur · 20/07/2026 14:55

40% apple juice, 60% sparkling water, also very cold.

A shandy, I genuinely think it’s the most refreshing drink

Lime and Sea Salt kombucha is great and not too sweet.

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 20/07/2026 15:12

Fridge cold water put through the soda stream. Splash of Bottle Green Lime and Mint cordial.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 20/07/2026 15:25

I made up some iced tea - peach and sage herbal teabags steeped for a few minutes in boiling water and a little honey. Leave to go completely cold and have with plenty of ice and some lemon. I drank a litre of it on Saturday!

InMySpareTime · 20/07/2026 15:25

Infuse raspberries, mint leaves and sugar (to taste) in boiling water and let it cool down then keep it in the fridge.

QueenStevie · 20/07/2026 15:47

A really ice cold can of Sprite is my go to thirst quencher.

A cider shandy is the perfect summer day drink in a nice beer garden

Home made lemonade. Really hits the spot.

And iced tea made with teabags , fresh mint, honey and and lemon. Don’t let the teabags and mint steep for too long but the lemon can stay in for ages.

Mydogisagentleman · 20/07/2026 15:54

Very cold water with squeezed lemon and ice cubes

ToadRage · 20/07/2026 15:58

Half and half apple juice and lemonade with plenty of ice. Husband and i love this on a warm summer evening with dinner outside.

@DeedlessIndeed wonderful, thank you. I’m in Scotland too so I’ll keep my eye out for it.

Sunloungerhogger · 20/07/2026 16:40

Love coconut water (I know that’s a bit marmite). I may be wrong but I think it has electrolytes and potassium naturally occurring and so is genuinely pretty good at hydrating you, without being full of sugar and/or chemicals. But second anything with a squeeze of lemon or lime being really refreshing.

Sunloungerhogger · 20/07/2026 16:41

I’ve also recently discovered Lucky Saint 0% lager with lime, salt and electrolytes (ok, it’s been on offer for a while on Ocado so they’re really pushing it). Again I guess because of the lime and pinch of salt, ice cold out of the fridge I find it v refreshing.

WallaceinAnderland · 20/07/2026 16:44

Oh, I was going to say water with a handful of ice in it but clearly I need to up my game 😂

Morepositivemum · 20/07/2026 16:49

I’m actually finding its fruit and cucumbers that do a better at the mo- grapes, pineapple, apples (cold from the fridge!!)

DeftGoldHedgehog · 20/07/2026 16:51

Well, water, but I have electrolyte tablets in at the gym which really seems to help.

Sometimes when I'm thirsty and I feel slightly run down or I'm getting a sore throat a pint of 50/50 juice and water is really the ticket.

Other drinks I like - Roses lime and soda, or Fever Tree Mexican lime and soda. Coke, cloudy lemonade, bitter lemon.

PauliesWalnuts · 20/07/2026 17:17

Nimbu soda - I had it in Nepal after a long trekking fortnight.
