How to let this friendship go?

So. I had a friend who I really truly did value. But over time I started to notice a few things. Like if I got complimented by a stranger she would act a bit weird after, when I was woth my ex she never really wanted to hear I was happy, when I got my promotions there was no actual joy that I got there. It was more of a oh nice type of reaction (which is fine but we work on the same field and she was much older than me when she got the promotion I did 4 years into my career) then when we recently spend some time on a staycation she made blatant jibes and tried to humour what I was eating. So I had to take some time after the time we spent together alone to re evaluate the friendship. And I’ve found that after some time. I just haven’t been able to feel the same since.

she reached out saying we should meet up. Part of me wants to confront her about what she said to me, but then I think, it could be awkward after the point that ive said it because I don’t think I want to repair the friendship. Or whether I just say “I’ll let you know. Things are bit busy lately”.

can anyone help? I’m not really too sure what to do.

Always easier to just say you’re busy, contrary to what some people think now people don’t need to know everything you think about them, it would eat them up more than her just think you don’t really have time for her

I would meet up and see how the conversation flows. If it's still similar then I'd slowly reduce contact. I think it'll fade out.
I'm actually going through a process of treating some friends like they treat me. As in I was always the one to initiate contact, since I stopped I haven't heard anything from them apart from an occasional text. I expect those friendships to fade away too.

“I’m still busy susan.” And ignore. I wouldn’t waste time on her, she won’t change.
