Constipation for 2 weeks, concerned

I've contacted NHS 111 and waiting on a call back. No other symptoms luckily, I feel well im myself otherwise. Never had it for this long before, I'm 35, just suddenly came on overnight, laxatives help me go normally but of course I don't want to rely on them.
I would say I do have a touch of health anxiety so my mind assumes the worse, I also hear of a lot of people getting fobbed off by GPs over this.

Has this happened to anyone else and 1. Was the cause established, 2. Did it go away itself/did you have any treatment?

Happened to me a lot while I was pregnant. Glycerin enemas sorted it out (stay close to your bathroom). Good luck OP and hope it isn’t too painful

Sorry to hear you went through it, thanks and I'll look into them!

Often it’s hormones, linked to your cycle. I’ve found it more recently, linked to heat / dehydration. It’s really unpleasant 😩

What helps…
plenty of fluids
exercise
Cosmocol sachets (help draw fluid into your stool making them softer /easier to pass)
Bicacodyl suppositories to get what’s ‘there’ out.

Good luck OP

It will sound crazy… but when I was constipated that much, but it was too painful , so I’d stop myself and it made it worse. What worked in the end when felt the urge to go, I put the radio / music on and started singing. ( I am not a singer ). I think this relaxed me, took my mind of the pain as I enjoyed the songs…. Hope you feel better soon x

Oh and I should add doing squats. That really helps too.
