Sold house, when would they get a survey?

I sold a probate house about 3 weeks ago but haven’t heard anything about a survey. When would I have heard if they were having one?

Depends. I wanted mortgage approved first then I booked survey. They had 2-3 week run up time. So I had survey about 5 weeks after offer accepted.
There was no rush because searches were to take up to 8 weeks based on info from LA at the time... They had some delays

So I think you mean, you’ve accepted an offer. You haven’t sold it if you’re still waiting on a survey.

I assume your solicitor has had proof of funds, mortgage AIP through? Normally, the survey happens as part of the conveyancing. So while searches are being conducted, it will get booked in, so that once everything comes back you can move towards exchange.

Not everyone gets a survey done depending on the property. We didn’t have one done on our house when we bought it. We were knowledgeable enough to see where the issues were and a survey wouldn’t have told us anything we didn’t already know, nor would it have changed our decision to proceed.
