Has anyone else had this problem with Vinted... to reset my password they're asking me to email them a screenshot or photo of a bank statement showing a Vinted purchase, or a photo of the payment card used next to a handwritten note with my username and the current date. This all seems very insecure to send over email, and really just a bit dodgy!
I forgot my Vinted password and tried to reset it by them sending a link to my email. I had to try several times because despite clicking on each link immediately it kept saying the link had expired. Then I got a link that worked, entered a new password but kept getting a "enter a new and unique password" message. The passwords I tried were new and met the requirements. This also happened several times. I tried the password reset by email request again a few times but got nothing so I assume they locked my account because of too many reset requests.
So I used the "contact us" option on their website explaining the problem, and they emailed saying I had to send them the banking/payment card info by email as per above. I responded and said I wasn't comfortable sending any of that info over email. That was late last night. They've just responded this morning saying they can't accept the proof because it doesn't meet their requirements. Bizarre response because I haven't sent them any proof anyway!
I have a verified phone number so not sure why they're not using that for a 2 step verification.
Has anyone had this problem and sent them the banking/payment info they want by email? This just seems like terrible customer service, very insecure and just a bit weird. The reason I can't reset my password is because of Vinted's glitchy, crappy website and their reset links not working properly! What's the point of having a verified phone number if they don't use that for verification?!
I don't think I'm willing to do send this banking info but interested to hear others experiences.
