Migraine hangover help?

I’ve just come off a 14 day period of unrelenting migraine , it went away for a few hours here and there but then came back with a vengeance. I have now thankfully been 36 hours migraine free. This has only happened once or twice before, but never more than 7 day or so.

I’m feeling incredibly rubbish, I’m absolutely knackered and barely have the energy to walk to the loo. My head feels like it’s full of cotton wool. I feel emotionally completely flat except having zero patience. I am searching for words and spelling things wrong (homonyms, like here or hear). How long might this go on after such a long migraine attack? Any hints for recovery? I’m not keen on caffeine and have been drinking rehydration packets and eating to my appetite (salty and watery things, fruit, crisps, etc.) I’m going on holiday tomorrow and, whilst thankfully I won’t have to do much, I’m also not in a state to do anything!

Ah, I feel for you. I used to get bad migraines and know exactly how you’re feeling. Gallons (and I mean gallons) of weak sweet tea was my go-to, but I appreciate you’ve said you don’t really do caffeine. A good sleep was also helpful, as I’d never slept well during the migraines. I think I was usually back to normal after a couple of days. How old are you? My migraines have very nearly stopped since menopause, so if you’re not menopausal yet, there might be some hope to hold onto.

I could never eat much after a migraine. Only cure for me is to sleep it off . Can you manage that . I drank ginger ale , nibbles ginger biscuits with lots of tea or just water . Glad it's passed and hope you feel better soon .
