Holiday catastrophising

Does anyone get like this? Thinking the worst or over stressing about the thought of things going wrong before holiday?… I can’t relax until a few days in to it!… travel problems, car breaking down, injuries, forgetting stuff!

I used to be very chilled, but I find the more I look forward to something the more I worry it’ll all go wrong… I feel like I’ll jinx myself if I relax and just be excited!

After the last three years of holiday which always included at least one hospital visit, I am now extremely relaxed about incidents.

I am still concerned about heat but not anything else anymore.

We have car troubles when we go away. They give me the most anxiety

Yes me and about everything, it can’t influence what might or might not happen in anyway , but I can’t switch it off .

Oh God, me too. We are going on our first holiday in over 10 years in 10 days' time. I am worried sick about the car breaking down, missing the flight, illness, not being able to get all 4 of us plus luggage in the car, the hotel being awful... it's a continuous loop and I'm annoying myself. I've been thinking it's partly because it's SO unusual for us and lovely DH insisted on spending the whole of one (small) pension payment on it. Therefore it feels like higher stakes than it would if we went away all the time and it wasn't a big deal to have used this money.
