Don't like crowds of people
Prefer cold weather but not actual blizzards
Don't mind darker evenings
Would like to see whales and lovely scenery

We went October 2023 and it wasn't manic busy, we did a whale watching tour and saw whales and it was a fairly mild temperature / like a UK winters day x

Was there in May and it felt like you could see things without being overwhelmed with crowds. Also whale watching season! Golden circle tours not busy.

Cool days of about 13c, was wearing wintry clothes tbh, like everybody else. But, longer nights, so perhaps not the vibe you're going for.

Absolutely loved it.

I've been in May (about ten years ago) and March (last year) and honestly I think it's just busy all the time now. If you're driving you can probably get away from people but in Reykjavik and on tours there will be lots of people about.
