Is this abed bug?

Found in my bed on penultimate night in a self catering holiday house.

If it is a bedbug what I do to prevent bringing them home?

Looks big for that

It's definitely dead. Sorry been out all day. It's not moved from the tissue where I left it this morning. My previous pic was zoomed in to detail. Here's another image with a 20p for scale.

Bedbugs are really flat and that looks like it's on its side, which would make it not flat enough.

I don't think so, they are usually flatter/more shield shaped. It looks too domed and like it has wing cases

My first thought was a full up flea missing some legs but on reflection a random beetle is more likely.

Apologies this is utterly grim but if you squish a bedbeg or flea that has bitten you, it will often leave a little blood spot.

Thank you. Yes it's definitely on its side and domed not flat so random beetle is a very welcome diagnosis!
