Is eczema always itchy? Cracked finger tips

Hi, I'm prone to eczema and have been given creams for it. Does anyone know if this on my finger is eczema too? It's really sore but not itchy. It's in an awkward place as it's used so much and starting to spread to my other finger tips
Just wondered if I should use the betamethasone valerate cream plus Hydromol ointment I already have? If so how often to use the betamethasone?
Or do I need a GP appointment? Thanks

That looks like one of the types of eczema I have and my mum used to get. It's partly affected by the weather. And if I'm doing a lot of cleaning/hand washing. It could be allergy related? Sometimes it's accompanies by tiny bumps. I'm not sure the technical name.

But yeah, my hand eczema isn't itchy. I mean it can be if I start scratching but if I ignore it it's fine. In fact that's the same for the other eczema I get which is more the traditional one. It flares up on my arms and torso. Then suddenly vanishes?! I wish I knew what caused/cured it!

Pictures on google often show the most extreme cases but mine was never that bad. I used to get tiny blisters and in my case they were often itchy or sore, but maybe it isn't always itchy? My blisters had a sticky, liquid inside and once the skin broke down- it was incredibly painful and sensitive. I always found that the skin that eventually grew back, was thicker and not the same as 'normal' skin.

Strangely, I used to get 1-2 fingers affected but only about twice a year. I'm late 40's now and thank fully haven't had it for about 5yrs now. The only think I can correlate is that I'm office based now and no longer wearing gloves and washing my hands 100's of times a day. I dont know the creams you have but you could always start with showing a pharmacist before the GP.

It's pompholyx. I have it and it's awful. I've never had much success with hydrocortisone for this particular area, but I find Dermol to be very good. Just apply as much as you can as often as you can.

Try not to pick - ha! The weird thing about this one is that the blisters turn into thick hard skin that can run deep and very sore.

If you can't get Dermol from GP, I think it's about 8£. It's not just am average moisturiser it has antibacterial, anti itching... Stuff!!

Rubber gloves if using detergents etc but this weather doesn't help as sweating drives mine mad. My palms are raw atm.

Dermol and hydrocortisone if you can.

Pompholyx... i have it more right now than I ever have in my entire life. It's mainly on my feet.

I've been prescribed Betnovate but it's not really helping and my feet look awful and red. The intense itching and burning I used to have on soles of feet hasn't shown up for some time though.

It's on my feet too but I have peripheral neuropathy, so erm... luckily (🤔) I can't feel my feet. I dermol those too!

Now I'm not sweating so much!
