Madonna and Mariah Carey -

Young people might well laugh at you now and think you're just two batty old ladies. But you were both absolutely groundbreaking in your day - especially Madonna - and weren't afraid to push boundaries. Madonna was just not afraid of anyone, and she taught me to stand up for myself.

As for Mariah, she had such a stunning voice, but so many young people laugh at her today and call her a "mental case" and a has-been.
