Year 6 leavers

What are your kids doing this week and how are you feeling (England time line).
We've recieved graduation photos although it's just a photo shoot, had school play although it's across all years, free ice creams done, leavers meal done, prom done. Just heading to leavers assembly and then there's a ful lday trip tomorrow. School books all home.

I think I'm still in disbelief that this tiny baby who nearly died, who I was told wouldn't survive, is leaving mainstream school today and heading to mainstream secondary.

I'm gonna cry in assembly but currently feeling numb.

How's everyone else doing?

And now I feel crap that I'm the only one on my own. Everyone has gathered grandparents and siblings and aunts and uncles. Have I missed up only being on my own? Hubby is at work, MIL is away, DM helped be put massively out yesterday so didn't ask. He's gonna be the only one without a crowd

The crowds piss me off and that's often the reason some parents end up right at the back. Nobody needs to take numerous guests.

I went on my own to DC2's leavers assembly / graduation yesterday as we are a small (space wise) school so it feels like the less people you bring the fairer it is on everyone else.

We've had PGL (4 nights a few weeks back), the Year 6 production and graduation yesterday, the Year 6 BBQ / disco tomorrow and then the parents are hosting a party in the school grounds on Friday. There'll be leavers hoodies and a year book (although every year they seem to miss the deadline so I might be collecting those in September 😂)

It's been an emotional week so far!

The teacher did a lovely speech and two people who'd clearly been dragged along talked all the way thorough. The only reason I didn't tel lthem to shit up is I didn't want to cause a scene and we're in a rough area, I wouldn't put it past them to tell me to F off.
Gah!!!!! At least the guy with the crying kid this morning's play took him out eventually

Oh that sounds lovely.
We only do one residential and that was in October which DS couldn't attend, goodies came out a few weeks ago so kids are living in them when it's cool enough. Parents hosted party sounds lovely

I don't see the need to do so much

.leavers meals, assembly, disco,... Jokdieo, photos....

Ot tok much

An assembly/disco is enough.

Y6 did a show / play this week and have had various fun days (picnic in local park, day at local theme park). Tomorrow is a disco. They got hoodies but it’s been far too hot to wear them!!

DH and I went to the play together but no other family. They did 3 performances and we had to choose one to attend as it’s a big school so hard to accommodate lots of people.

in the last 3 weeks we've had residential, school trip, leavers disco, 2xperformance, and leavers assembly and bbq Is tomorrow! I'm enjoying the celebrations but they're tired. and then SATS results tomorrow! Congratulations to all the other year 6 parents - you've all done a stellar job and now for the big move :/

Hope everyone is pleased with SAT'S results, we certainly are as he had a very hard year and I will take a pass in maths thank you very much!!

Bowling andaser tag went down today, I think part of the issue is filling up the day {mention:JohnnieFedora}@JohnnieFedora,so,so the trios out etc are better than sat in empty class rooms. It does cost tho, and I have twisn moving up
